How I Handle My Self-Sabotaging Ways

You might have been wondering where I've gotten to over these last couple of weeks.

I'd love to be able to say I've been high on cloud nine, kickin' it in Florence with my entrepreneur pals. But alas, that would be a lie.

In actual fact I have been very much down on earth dealing with my "old friends" doubt and self-sabotage.

They always show up when things are getting good!

What buzz killers.

always get those tell-tale signs that they're coming to town.

For me it begins with procrastination. "Oh, I'll just write that post tomorrow" or "I'll do my money tracking exercise later on". And then I'll start to justify why I haven't been able to get around to doing any work. "I've been really busy with work/family/home" or my favourite, "I've just been too tired to do anything", when really I've been watching all four Pirates of the Caribbean movies back-to-back and playing Tomb Raider on PS3. Next up I suddenly become awash with self-doubt. "I've chosen the wrong field/topic/business type" and "I'm not really 'clear' on my message, therefore it must not be the right one. Now I have to change it."

Can you relate?

It happens.

Especially when trying to up-level anything in your life.

So what the hell do you do when it happens?

Here's how I do it.

How I Handle My Self-Sabotaging Ways

Let myself have a break. I really have to gauge what's going on here. Most of the time it's that I've been working really hard on my business and I actually need to take a break. So I'll quite literally "give in" to my sabotage and relax. And sometimes that looks like doing nothing for a week or so, sometimes that looks like spending time outdoors in nature or in this case watching movies and playing PS3!

Allow myself to be creative and get re-inspired. Don't forget that the inspirer still needs to be inspired herself. And I always know when I need re-inspiring because I'll want to spend more time doing creative things than doing anything else. This week I bought Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and have been devouring the material (which I highly recommend btw). I also discovered new music by Odesza which sends me straight into a high vibration. That was enough to get me ready to gently get back to my business.

Do the things that comes easy first. When I self-sabotage, rebelling against my own routine is usually part of it. So once I've had my little break and got some inspo, I start getting back into my routine by doing the easiest things first. Over the last week the easiest thing for me to do has been making my green smoothie for breakfast and citing my morning intentions.

Tackle a "tedious" task quickly. For me this blog post was the "tedious" task. It's not that I don't love writing, or that I don't like giving you everything I've got (not at all!) it's more a case of the task of writing. I've been writing posts for 5 years now, so it gets a little old. Through this short break I have decided I'm going to be delivering content to you through a new route. And sometimes that's what your self-sabotage and doubt will lead you to - the birth of something new! But let's talk about that later!

Go full force back into it. Usually after I've let myself have my chill time, gotten myself inspired, eased myself back into it, I'm good to go. And thus why you have this post to read ;)

Sometimes you actually just need a break. Sometimes your doubt will be overwhelming. And sometimes you're not even going to know you're sabotaging yourself.

And what I have to say to that is you need to pay attention to yourself. If it's something you start to do whenever things are going well, then it tends to be self-sabotage. If it's something out of character, that could well be your intuition telling you something is off. If you're drained, then you most definitely need a break! So take it!

Now it's your turn: How do you handle your own self-sabotage? What are your signs?

What To Do When You Doubt Yourself In Your Business

What if everyone thinks I'm a HUGE fraud and throws avocados at me in the street?

Her blog is 5 trillion times more inventive than mine, why the fuck would anyone read mine?!

What if they laugh hysterically at my sales page and post nasty ass comments?

These thoughts creep into our minds when we're least expecting.

What? You thought you were alone?

This is me on a good day.

Kidding.

Fear and doubt are always going to affect us in our life and business. Yes, even when we're successful, even when we're adored and even when we're rich.

As Elizabeth Gilbert says, fear is like a necessary companion. It's the reason you're still alive today. Instead of trying to push it away or conquer it, it should be treated with respect and thanked that it has kept you from walking down dark alleys and swimming outside of the surf lifesaving flags.

Once we can get to a place of "making peace" with fear and invite it along on the ride with us, only then we can start to work with it in a way that's easier for the both of you.

What To Do When You Doubt Yourself In Your Business

Don't Give Your Doubts Fuel

How do you keep a fire burning?

By adding more wood.

Don't add any more wood and you got no fire.

Same goes with those doubtful thoughts you love to drum around in that skull of yours. Our thoughts don't really have any voodoo magic over us unless we're adding a barrel of gasoline to the fire of them.

Whatever you're doubting you need to realize that it's actually just one simple thought you keep thinking over and over again. It's not actually real.

Interrupt the patterns.

Every time a self doubting thought enters your mind, have a few go-to things you can do to interrupt the doubtful pattern right away.

You could have a saved set of funny youtube videos on hold anytime a doubting situation arises.

Tony Robbins says that in order to change your thinking, you've gotta re-associate new feelings to old habits by interfering the thought patterns. What's one thing you could set up to do/watch/listen to the next time your doubts pop up?

Get your alter-ego on.

I know you got one! She's that sassy, sultry, fiery diva you keep locked away in your fantasies - perhaps letting her off her leash when you've had one too many mojitos - shhhh... I won't tell ;)

Beyonce unleashed hers to the world and it made her famous, gave her a lot of money and she felt fully (and safely) self expressed. She described her alter-ego as "aggressive, strong and sexually confident".

It's like playing a role of your "perfect self" or whoever you believe can get you to that point of being confident in yourself.

Worst case scenario?

Ask yourself what's the worst that could happen if you just go through with it?

If any of your answers affect your ego (i.e I'll look stupid in front of everyone) it's time to push that puppy outta the way and let YOU shine.

Focus on the good in your life.

Think about all the good things you've got going on in your life right now.

And what about all of your past achievements?

Who has helped and guided you along the way?

Focus on the good as you take your first step into the unknown.

In a 100 years who’s going to give a damn?

Seriously. Who's gonna care?

In the comments below I would LOVE for you to tell me one thing you're gonna take away from this list and apply the next time your doubt starts popping up.

10 Ways to Clear Your Money Blocks Today

I'm not a fan of long-winded processes.

Like digging deep into your past to uncover some locked away memory that's been the sole thing holding you back from becoming an author, moving to Buenos Aires and meeting your Costa Rican soul mate.

I think it's healthy to know where a limiting belief came from, but when we talk about money blocks, most people think you need to dig deep into your past and re-live the events all over again. And only once you've done that, then you can start to work through your beliefs.

And all I can say is, what an unnecessary shitty way to go about it!

When you're baking a chocolate cake and you realize you have no eggs, you don't beat yourself up about it and think, "If only Timmy Thompson didn't steal my eggs in baking class when I was 10, I'd be able to have as many eggs as I wanted now!!", do you?

No!

You just go to the supermarket and buy some more eggs!

That's how I look at money blocks.

As an opportunity for taking positive solution-based action.

In my private facebook group The $100k Experiment (join here). One of our wonderful members, Sarah, asked a fantastic question about a particular money block that many women face.

What happens when you start manifesting money and then an unexpected bill or expense arises, and just like that the money you manifested has gone before it even reached your fingertips?

This is a fantastic question, and if you're in this situation it's a great indication that you're doing things right. How? Because our blocks only come up when we're hitting an upper limit or financial comfort zone, which means we are right on the brink on change.

Here's how to ensure you break through that threshold.

10 Ways to Clear Your Money Blocks

Declutter everything

When manifesting money, (and anything in your life really), you need to make room for it. Simple. And you do this by decluttering everything physically and mentally. Start by doing the obvious, have a huge clearing of your wardrobe, your cupboards, your car, wallet, bedroom, kitchen, lounge, the files on your computer. Get rid of anything that no longer serves you at this new level you're wanting to move into. Cleanse your house and gardens. Cull everything. This clears your mind of things that have been laying in the back of your mind. Now when you're wanting to declutter your mentally, this gets a little bit trickier. It's time to look at leaving old memberships to sites or hobbies, groups your that no longer interest you, services you no longer use, old friendships that don't seem to work any more and clients that aren't a match to you.

Forgive, forgive, forgive

Forgiveness is so underestimated. And it would be. Most people don't want to forgive others, especially if that person has wronged them in some way. When you learn to move past that, and realize that all forgiveness really is, is a way to set yourself free from what or who was holding you back. You win. How you clear your money blocks by using forgiveness is by doing this: write a huge list of every limiting money belief you've ever had, think from birth to present day and any extras in-between. Try to do this uninterrupted. Then when you feel you've gotten everything out, big, small, insignificant, humiliating and so on. Read through each line out loud, feeling the feelings and then say "I forgive, I love you, I'm sorry". By the end of the list you'll feel a hell of a lot lighter - I guarantee it!

Practise EFT

I'll admit, I find Emotional Freedom Technique a bit lame, BUT, it works! I don't use it often, but when I do it always helps me push through a block that I'm struggling with - every single time. I don't like doing it on my own because I feel like a mega dork, so I follow this tapping tutorial - which probably makes me even more of dork, right? There are some of you who will love it, and if you do - use it every single time your blocks come up. It's a quick and easy way to break through.

Gratitude

Another underestimated tool. Giving thanks for everything in your life that you have currently, have received in the past and will receive in the future. It's the best (and easiest) way to ensure you success. I listen to an audio by Tony Robbins called The Hour of Power and in it he talks about the triad, which put simply is regarding the thoughts you think, the words you speak and the way you move determine your current state. And there's a powerful exercise in the audio that you listen to while you're on a walk that gets you to change your state into a beaming positive beacon of gooeyness with a huge emphasis on giving gratitude and visualizing what you want for yourself.

See a Kinesiologist or Intuitive Healer

This is something I have not done yet - however I tried bowen therapy once, does that count? - but it is something I am really eager to try. I haven't needed it yet in terms of clearing blocks for myself, but I have a feeling I will need to as I start to uplevel further and further in my life and business. I've heard incredible things about going to a kinesiologist. Joanna Turner, Denise Duffield-Thomas and Leonie Dawson swear by it to clearing your blocks, so definitely give it a try!

Track your money

In a Periscope video I did, I mentioned the importance of tracking your income and putting it either in your diary or on a simple excel spreadsheet. It's 1000% true that what you think about, you bring about or what you focus on, grows. So instead of letting yourself be on auto-pilot or worse, not paying positive attention to your money at all, make it your goal to check your bank account every day and make a note of the income only. Don't worry about expenses, this is about clearing your blocks, not giving you a heart attack! ;)

Write your goals down

There's a power in setting your goals each day. It's like a physical affirmation. Whatever your goal is, be it reach $5k this month, book one new client this week or sell 5 products today. Write your goal down. It doesn't matter where or when, just make sure you do it every single day. Why? Because it gets you to focus, it reaffirms to you what you want and it energetically sets you for the day to achieve what you've set out to do.

Join a Mastermind

Sometimes us ladies in business can find it hard to talk about our businesses and our money shit with people outside of industry, like friends and family. That's why it's really great to join a mastermind or find a group of like-minded woman who you can bounce off when you do hit a money block. The Rich, Fearless & Free community would be a great place to start! Join here.

Use visualization

Remembering when you were a child, and when it was mat time at school your mind would wander off into a daydream that was far more interesting than what the teacher was teaching? No? Only me then. Well visualizing is like the adults version of daydreaming, and the cool thing is that if we do it well, we manifest our 'daydream' into reality! Use visualization of what you want to move past your limiting beliefs. When they creep up on you, choose in intercept the limiting thought with a more powerful thought about what you'd like to have instead.

Meditate

Like I mentioned on Periscope, meditation is one of my favourite things to do. I do them in the morning as they help me set up for my day while grounding me at the same time. My favourite abundance and money guided meditations are by Gina Devee and Gabrielle Bernstein (which you can find on iTunes and download as a free podcast). I prefer guided because as you know, I like to use my imagination, I can't concentrate if I try to do it in silence! Find a guided meditation that works for you when your money fears are bubbling up to the surface.

Sometimes you might not clear the block fully on the first round. That's okay. You will get it. As Robet Collier said, "Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out".

Now it's your turn to share: What are some quirky ways you use to clear you money blocks?

P.S - how we manifested our $2.1 million dollar home

How We Manifested Our $2.1 Million Dollar Home

In celebration of some incredible people manifesting some amazing things in The $100k Experiment (hint: 50 pounds, a $1200 trip to Fiji and a load of great money making opportunities!) I want to share with you how we manifested our $2.1 million dollar rental home earlier this year. Yes that's the view from our bedroom!

It all began with the viewing on New Years Eve.

Who views a house on New Years Eve you ask?

No one.

Except the people bonkers enough to do it.. AKA us.

We knew that January was a busy time for people looking for rentals, with new students starting their semesters and newcomers moving into the city wanting to give the 'big smoke' a try still drunk on the idea of new possibilities.

But New Years Eve wasn't a busy time. In fact it was a deserted buffet with an abundance of delicacies ready for the taking!

We knew we loved it the minute we walked down the foyer to the entrance. And as we moved through the house, it wasn't about what we liked about it, it was about what we were going to do in this room and that room, and what we'll put here and decorate there. And then it was the view. The view that enraptured us all.

The house was ours in our minds.

And two months later, it was ours.

Here is what we did:

How We Manifested Our $2.1 Million Dollar Home

  • Wrote in my gratitude journal how much I loved living in the house, If I didn't journal I'd say what I was grateful for about it when I went on my daily walks.
  • I visualized myself in the house, pottering around, cooking, working, just regular day to day stuff that I already did anyway.
  • Talked in detail about the house with my partner and our friend living with us.
  • Drove by the house at least three times a week so I could soak in the view, and imagine myself in the house once again. Yeah I was getting borderline stalker around about now.
  • When friends came to visit, I'd say "Let's go see our new house!" and then I'd drive them to the area and we'd marvel at it's beauty for a few minutes or so.
  • Scott and I went for a few walks around the neighbourhood to suss out the vibe and people.
  • We went to every viewing of the house. Just to get a few more minutes of good visualizing juju in.
  • We also started buying up furniture for the new house. I found a killer 3-piece lounge suite for a steal!
  • We frequented the local shopping centre and bought groceries at the supermarket.
  • I got my finances in order ready to pay for the bond.
  • Started to appreciate where I was because I knew the house was ours.

Simple practical steps right?

When you add them all up, throw in repetition and almost no resistance. It can happen that quickly.

In saying this, I think it's important to note that some things will manifest quicker than others, easier than others and with less effort than others. And some things will just take longer no matter how hard or little you try.

I didn't plan to do any of the things above, they just happened naturally. And yes, we even had a bit of resistance and freaked out that maybe it wasn't going to happen. But overall our vibe stayed positive.

The biggest thing is to get out of your way and not be attached to the outcome. If you can do that, then you've won the battle!

So to send you off, I'll leave you with a quick sunset snap from our deck that I sent my friends last night.

Your turn! What's something 'big' that you have manifested with quite a bit of ease?

An Amusing Lesson on Defining My Ideal Day

She looked me up and down as if I had emerged out of the eighteenth century a orphaned pick-pocket.

"Are you wanting to eat here?" she asked, with a puzzled expression and a hint of condescension in her tone.

After three three hours of hiking around the island, with chunks of clay stuck to my shoes, dried sweat-now-salt layered on my face and an outfit of walking tights and a fleece sweater, I wasn't exactly dressed for lunch in a hoity-toity restaurant.

"Yes please!" I said, ignoring her subtle condemnatory glare.

I found my table outside in the sun, overlooking the beach.

After I had ordered I contemplated the interaction that had just happened.

Taking a sip of my water I surveyed the restaurant.

'Weird', I thought. 'There's no one here but retired people and tourists. It was the same yesterday at the other restaurant'.

Thinking nothing of it, I went back to my view and sat there soaking in the sun.

Let's pause there for a moment.

You've more than likely heard of the 'ideal day' exercise.

Well, whenever I've tried to imagine and feel what my days would be like once I ran my own 6-figure business it would go something like this - I'd wake early, do yoga, drink green juice, work with my clients, go shopping or meet a friend for lunch, workout in the afternoon, prepare gourmet dinners, drink wine and relax in the evening - and every single time I imagined that it felt overwhelming, it felt crippling, it felt unsuitable.

I found it impossible to imagine the lifestyle I'd be living once I was wealthy because 1) I'd never experienced it before and 2) I believed I would be a completely different person.

'Wait a minute.' My mind was back on the restaurant observation.

'It's midday on a Tuesday. Everyone is at work right now.'

Then it hit me.

Everyone is literally at work except for the retired and the tourists. Even prissy waitress lady in her tight fitted knit dress and tan leather boots - which actually looks really lovely, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

No one else is on their time right now, except for the retired, the tourists and me!

*LIGHTBULB*

This is it. This is exactly what I want. This is my ideal day.

Enjoying a Tuesday afternoon on my time. Letting uppity waitresses hover in the corner trying to figure me out. Eating vanilla pancakes with bacon and freshly squeezed orange juice. Working on my 5-figure business from my phone. Wearing sweat infused workout gear and shoes riddled with mud.

This is my ideal day.

And it feels so, me.

When getting into business, most of us believe we're going to become this amazing 2.0 version of ourselves and do these incredible things that we don't do right now.

And I really gotta cut the shit and say, you'll be petrified bone-dust before that happens.

Get real with yourself. Take the exercise a step further, and off the paper. Take the day off work and feel-out what you'd really like to do. Take actual action. Because I guarantee you, the imaginary ideal day you've written on paper is not going to match what you really want to do once you have the time!

Now it's your turn! Tell us below what your *real* ideal day in your business is?

How to Run a Rampage of Appreciation for Money

Tomorrow I delete myself from the world... for four days.

No technology.

No distractions.

No human contact.

And a part of what I'll be doing while I'm away - since I'm gonna have sooooooo much god damn time on my hands - is to get back into practising rampages of appreciation.

Back in 2010, when I was a total groupie to Abraham Hicks, I used to recite the money rampage below every single day.

At first I felt like a complete nut case dork, but each day that I did it I noticed I started to feel better and believe it just a little bit more. It didn't seem like I had been reciting the rampage all that long when exciting things started manifesting into my life.

Winning a trip to New York to meet Taylor Swift, being showered with gifts from people, getting a brand new car and a new job without having to interview etc..

The thing about building a money mindset is you've got to try everything to figure out what works for you.

So for today, use this rampage:

Rampage of Appreciation for Money

"I’ll bet there are many people who, at one time, were standing financially about where I am. Who broke through this, and found a stream of abundance. And I can feel the stream of abundance approaching me, because things that have never happened to me before are beginning to show up.

So, I know my vibration around money is improving. And, there’s no end to what that improvement will be. And it’s gonna be fun for me over the next days to watch different evidences showing me I’m really sniffing out the trail of abundance.

And, I accept that 99% of every creation is complete before I see any physical evidence, so it’s alright if it doesn’t flow right into my hands this red hot minute. I can be patient here a little bit.

I’ve learned to settle in here and I’m alright in waiting for this. And I’m actually beginning to feel my impatience turning to a little bit of eagerness. It’s going to be exciting to watch how the Universe displays to me, in a way that is meaningful, where I can consciously recognise that my energy is shifting.

And, I can feel that even in this conversation that I’m having with myself that I’m moving systematically into that Stream of money that I’m wanting. And I’m not asking for it to come all at once. Although it can. I’m asking that it come through my crack of least resistance, which I’m working on right now. And it’s exciting to me to anticipate the adventure, and the surprises, and the ways in which it will flow.

And, I’m appreciating already my knowledge about my own guidance system. I am appreciating my understanding of the Law of Attraction. And I am appreciating the people that are showing, in a demonstrating way, that abundance can flow into their experiences. And I am looking forward to meeting people who can tell me their stories about how they were in desperate straits not very long ago and money began to flow. And I like hearing from them, especially the part where they say, ‘I can’t believe that it was always there for me’, or I have the sensation of, ‘Where have you been all along.’

In other words, it’s an interesting thing to be on one side of the manifestation one moment, and on the other side of the manifestation in the other moment. And I’m looking forward to breaking through that.

But, in the mean time, I’m happy to be on this side of the manifestation because I’m feeling better, and better, and better. I’ve improved my life in so many different ways. And I’m eager to begin to see the stream of money flow into my experience.

I know that I’m worthy of it. That’s not what the question is. I know, now, that I’ve just been a little bit vibrationally out of whack. And I can feel in conversations I’m having with myself, like this, are bringing me vibrationally into alignment. I’m understanding that my work is this emotional journey. It’s not about getting out there and beating the pavement. It’s not about finding the vortex – the specific vortex – through which the money will flow. I don’t want only one specific vortex. I want many vortexes to open. I want to be the focal point, where enormous sums of money begin to flow into my experience.

I have activated my imagination. There is no end to my ideas of what I will do with this stream of money. It’s great fun! I love the idea of playing the game where I’m spending the money. I love the sensation of the money being in my pocket! And I love the sensation of expressing it out there in the Universe. And I love the economy that I benefit as I hire one more to do one more thing, or as I buy one more thing and bring it home. But most of all, I enjoy the sensation of Freedom! And it’s interesting to note that I am having that sensation of freedom right now even though my dollars have not changed at all in this moment!

I’ve broken through the emotional journey. I can feel that I’ve cleaned up my vibration. I’m much closer. Maybe 70% of that 99.99 of that percentage is in place. I’m willing to play this game! Who wouldn’t want to play this game! It’s exhilarating to play this game! It’s life-giving to play this game. I could play this game all day, every day! Wouldn’t it be nice if I have that? Won’t it be nice if I have that? Won’t it be nice if I have that? Wouldn’t it be nice if I have that?

I feel such appreciation of the abundance that’s flowing into my experience. There is abundance that’s coming to me in so many ways. I have the abundance of clarity. I have the abundance of stamina. I have the abundance of health. I have the abundance of friends. I have the abundance of so many things. And now the Universe is getting ready to give me the abundance of dollars. The abundance of being able to prove to myself that I am in alignment of all that I want and that it is true that there is NOTHING that I cannot BE, or DO, or HAVE!

That’s what I want most of all, I say to the Universe! I want personal acknowledgment that there is nothing that I cannot Be, or Do, or Have. And money is part of it. Money might even be a big part of it. I can feel money on it’s way to me. And I am grateful for it even as it begins to flow and I am proud of myself for the work I am doing. And I am eager to improve where I am. And I am Happy where I am.

I am doing very well. I have come so far. I’m proud of where I am. I know the Universe sees me as I am. I can get on these rampages any time I want to. I am going to work on these rampages more and more, because they just feel so darn good. In fact, in a rampage like this, whether the money comes or not, in this red hot minute, is no big issue to me. I know it’s coming. I’m not even wondering if it’s coming. I’m not hoping that it’s coming. I’m not even believing that it’s coming. I know that it’s coming. It’s just a matter of time. NO! It’s not even a matter of time. It’s just a matter of my alignment with what I want. And it’s alright that I want it. The Time Space reality has given me the ability to discern it. I’ve launched rockets of desire and they’re over there pulsing with me. And Source and Inner Being are in alignment with them saying, “Come this way. Come this way. Come this way. Come this way. Come this way. Come this way.” And I can tell by the thoughts that I’m thinking right now I have come that way! I’m there! I’m there vibrationally and, NOW, let the money roll in!"

Now it's your turn: let me see your rampage of appreciation!

39 Of My Favourite Money Affirmations (That Work!)

My 39 Favourite Money Affirmations That Work!

Have you ever experimented with money affirmations? Did you find them ineffective? Maybe even a little wanky? Did you find it hard to believe them? Or were you the opposite end, did you find them super effective? Really powerful and easy to believe?

Whatever your thoughts, you can't deny that there is some amazing energy that hangs around money manifestation affirmations, or affirmations in general.

My favourite lady, Oprah, said that for her entire life she had been using affirmations without really knowing it. She said that because of the affirmations she recited in her mind over and over again, she created the life she has now. Which is pretty amazing right?!

Below are 30 money affirmations I used on a consistent basis to bring more money into my life (which by the way, absolutely work!). The only different now is that I now incorporate my affirmations into my morning mindset work, and that runs a little differently than these affirmations (but that's another post for later!). So for now, enjoy these brilliantly effective money manifestation affirmations!

P.S - my 6 tips on how to manifest money now

Jul 26, 2015

Why do you want to be rich?

I'm lying here in bed feeling sorry for myself.

My bedside table engulfed with vicks, throat lozenges and remnants of ginger & lemon tea.

After you've met your sleep quota for the rest of the year, there's not much else to do but twiddle your thumbs - and shop online.

I'll admit it, online shopping is my guilty pleasure when bed ridden.

Today things got pretty heated  - between hawking up a lung & spreading mucous everywhere - when I couldn't decide whether to get the boho swing dress or the aztec culottes.

Why the hell couldn't I just have both!?

Simple: My personal spending comfort zone

See, the thing is. No matter how hard you work at busting through your money blocks, you're always going to hit another limit you've got to work through.

When I find myself hitting that wall, one thing I do is remind myself why I want to smash through it in the first place.

I do that by reaffirming why I want to be rich.

Why I Want To Be Rich

  • Give my Mum an extremely comfortable retirement
  • Live a laid back luxurious lifestyle with Scott (we love heat & afternoon naps)
  • Spend more quality time with family and friends
  • Help people to bring more money into their lives
  • Start doing philanthropic work

Why Do You Want To Be Rich?

Do you want to live a luxurious lifestyle? Maybe spend a year traveling through Europe? Do you want to help the world with your skills? Eat at nice restaurants? Maybe you’re craving a 7-figure business, or a swoon-worthy wardrobe?

Whatever it is, tell me below why you want to be rich - make it public!

(And if you want a head start, join The 100k Experiment!)

P.S - how to upgrade your money mindset

How to (Continuously) Upgrade Your Money Mindset

"I got it" read the text message.

And in 0.245ths of a second I had gasped so loud my colleagues thought I was choking.

*frantic dialing*

"Hello?"

"CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!#@#$%^&!!"

"Oh haha, thanks babe."

"How do you feel?"

"Yeah.."

"What's wrong?"

"Uhhh...."

"Come on, out with it."

"It's just.. I'm gonna miss this place. Don't get me wrong I am over the moon but.. It's just... bittersweet. You know?"

Because sometimes when we're ready to take the next step, life is already ticking along swimmingly.

And when things are going well it's hard for us to understand why we'd want to change and move upwards.

It's become comfortable.

It's become easy.

And that's why it's time to upgrade.

And it can be like graduation all over again.

"I don't want to move on. I want to move on. I'm scared. I'm excited. I'm tired. I need a nap. I'll think about it. I'll save some time to plan it all out in the weekend. Oh god I'm so ready. I'M SO NOT READY! I'm so confused. It's all so clear. HELP!!!"

And it's exactly the same when upgrading your money mindset.

"Wow, I'm manifesting money from my business/creative pursuits/out of thin air! I can't believe it! I love it! I think this might be a bit too much too soon. This is so exciting. Oh my god I am so out of my league. I'll strategize and reinvest it back into my business. Nah screw that, let's go on a shopping spree! I deserve this. I so don't deserve this. I'm slipping back. I'm making progress again! I feel like I've gone back to step one. Making money is so easy. OMG this is a nightmare!!!"

I can't guarantee that you're going to be ready at the perfect time, and that all your decisions are going to be easier the more you upgrade.

What I can guarantee is that curve balls are gonna hurl in your direction at any moment. But it's not about what happens, it's about how you work through it.

And when it comes to upgrading your money mindset, the way through it is with consistency.

How to Upgrade Your Money Mindset

Make consistency your friend. Do one small action each day. They add up! Try these:

  • Find someone to follow. We learn best from people we admire. Find a leader who captures your attention, speaks in a way that you understand and makes you want to learn everything they know on the subject (hint: me! ;D)

  • Always be studying. Get your hands on as many books on money, wealth creation and mindset building as possible. Join the library, head into your local thrift store or grab a bargain from The Book Depository. There's always a way.

  • Sign up for quality webinars. Those that are specific to what you want. i.e how to work through blocks, manifest money, upgrade your business etc. Yes they're promotional tools - but - if they're run by a quality expert, they will give you A LOT of tremendous free information that you can work with straight away - like this one

  • Join courses. You can learn so much from a course that a book or webinar just can't give you. Like a community of people you can reach out to. Or hands on in-depth information and tools right that you can access whenever you want. And my favourite  will progress you dramatically - Lucky Bitch Bootcamp is the only one I recommend for this.

  • Take action. Theory is good, but if it's teamed with action it's unsurpassable. Everything you soak up you need to put into physical activity. Whether it's writing, verbalising, ritualizing etc, you need to do it, try it out, experiment with it. Find what you like and do it every day. That's how you upgrade your money mindset (actually, anything in life).

As Robet Collier said, "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out".

You got this.

Tell me below what's one thing you've been doing to upgrade your money mindset each day?

P.S - how to save money easily

How to Save Money Easily

How to Save Money Easily

I don’t do ‘complicated’ well.

Like in Year 8 when Dean Kinred told the whole class he wanted to be my boyfriend. And in a mix of surprise, horror, and my outright non-reciprocal feelings, I agreed to "go out" with him.

Because no awkward lion maned 11-year-old girl wants to be the one to damage a hearty 12-year-old boys self-esteem - even though she really had been crushing on his friend for over a year.

(For the record, we went out for 2 days, shared a hot chocolate and then "broke up" during school camp).

Sound familiar? These people can relate to the awkwardness too.

Fast forward a few - humble - decades and now we're adults who’ve mastered "complicated" when it comes to relationships.

But when it comes to money, or saving it, the word complicated should be made illegal.

My first steps to saving..

The idea of saving after years of living in feast or famine mode with money was like reading my favourite novel in gibberish. I just couldn't grasp the possibility of being able to do it!

But in 2013 I decided to do a complete 180 on myself - no, not rekindle the non-romance with Dean from 11 years ago - actually start saving money!

It's not forensic science, you don't need to become a travel agent to "make it rain". All you need is a simple automated system. Here's how..

How to Save Money Easily

Set up small weekly automatic transfers into a savings account. See, not forensic science at all.

I have been doing this every week since August 2013. I set up an automatic payment of $25 to be transferred into my savings account each week (which is with another bank. I find if I can't see it, I forget about it). That works out to be $1300 of savings year - which is a hell of a lot better than saving $0!

I recommend to start small. Set the amount to something you wouldn't notice - like $5. And then slowly increase the payment amount the more you feel comfortable with saving money. It would be crazy beneficial to do this alongside The 100k Experiment to boost your money manifesting mindset. Just sayin'.. ;)

Here's another few ideas that I've tried..
  • Using cash. I did an experiment where I used a $100 note to see exactly what I spent that I'd usually pay for with my card. I purchased my regular coffees, chocolate, lunches, dinners etc. And it was gone within two days! It's good for a reality check but if you're just going to go back to to using your card then it defeats the purpose.

  • Borrowing. I'm a serial book collector, as in I buy books I want to read and then don't read them for years. And once you add up how much you're spending within a year, it can be a few hundred dollars! I decided for books I wanted to read but wasn't pulled to buy I would borrow them from the library.

  • Bartering. When we moved into our new house we needed a quite a bit of furniture, so we decided to barter with the previous owner if he would leave some of his furniture and appliances and we would agree to maintain them if they broke down or got a bit shabby. He agreed and we saved ourselves a few thousand dollars! Try it out in stores by asking for a discount and see how you go.

My philosophy is, at the end of the day if you keep it simple, it becomes easy.

Unlike my pre-teen "love affairs".

Do you have an awesome system of saving? Let us know!

P.S - how to stop feeling broke

How To Stop Feeling Broke

I had been dreading this weekend for over a month.

"Do I have to go? I don't want to. I can't afford it. But it's her birthday. I have to go."

To the world, I was the lucky bitch taking an "extended holiday" back home, galavanting all over the land, back and forth to the city.

And I worked hard to keep that as the perception.

Because if they found out the truth - that I'd actually moved back in with my Mother to build an online business with only $80 to my name - they'd disown me solely for my stupidity.

I came up with an array of excuses of why I couldn't go, but no matter what I did, this birthday weekend was still happening. And I was still going. And I was stone cold bitter about it.

The weekend came and went.

I didn't have some major epiphany that you're supposed to when you're desperation mode, I didn't enjoy myself because I spent the entire time worried about my spending, and I spent my $80 which made my stomach stir.

Those were good times. Really.

Sometimes we can't help the situations we find ourselves in.

Whether a maintenance bill unbeknownst to you flopped into your lap and wiped you out till next payday.

Or you got caught up in the '60% off' Nordstrom sale.

Or you invested in a business course and now you don't have enough money to pay your rent this week.

It can leave you (dirt) broke.

But it's not about what your situation is. It's about how you feel.

And when you feel broke, that's the danger zone.

How to Stop Feeling Broke

This is an exercise that on the surface looks stupidly simple. But if you do it properly, you wind up feeling so much better (and not broke) instantly.

1. What in your life already makes you feel abundant?

List every single thing in your life that makes you feel abundant already. Is it your car? Your relationship? Your job? House? Health? Go deep into specifics. What in that particular area of your life makes you feel abundant? Drill down even further. Why does it make you feel abundant?

2. What are some small income generating actions you can take today?

I've got your first easy action step, Join The 100k Experiment, and start manifesting your first 100k for free. You could declutter your wardrobe and sell your clothes, promote an affiliate product you love on your website or run a few discovery calls and book your next client. Get creative and think abstractly.

Remember, you have to have the mental shift first (exercise #1) before the go on to the second exercise. If you do, it will be much easier to take those actions without resistance to bring money in.

Side Note: Honestly, you can't do this exercise when you're deep in scarcity. You have to do it when you're a little less resistant, say after you've had a nap, been for a walk or when your energy is elevated. Coffee anyone?

Now I want to hear from you:

What are your tricks to get yourself out of feeling broke? Is there an exercise you go through or do you just let the feelings run their course?

6 Tips on How to Manifest Money Now

I remember very vividly back in 2010 sitting on the floor of my bedroom feeling helpless, irritated and disappointed that I had no money for the umpteenth time. To be fair I was 19, so still extremely new to bills, rent and partying!! It wasn't like I was incapable of making money and keeping it. I had many periods throughout my life where there was an abundance of money, where I was able to save $250 a week, where I could afford to go out to dinner with friends, take regular holidays, pay my bills and still have cash in the bank.

I knew The Secret, I knew the principles of the Law of Attraction, I visualized as hard as humanly possible and yet I was still broke, still complaining about the same things, still living in my shitty apartment and working in a soul-sucking job. Which is why I was so frustrated, because it obviously wasn't from a lack of opportunities or "smarts". The only difference that I could come up with between the broke years and the abundant years was my frame of mind.

It wasn't until I figured out the 6 core steps to manifesting money (and anything you want in life actually) that it was then that my "luck" started turning around big time. When I started practising the 6 steps, it's like the floodgates opened for me.

Within a month I had manifested:
  • A $10,000 trip to New York to meet Taylor Swift
  • $300 worth of gift vouchers
  • Brand new clothes & electronics worth $500
  • My old job back without interviewing (money is money, right?)
  • A boyfriend! (not money related, but 5 years later I'm still with the guy!)
To be a "money magnet" as they say (so lame), you have to stick to a formula. Like with any freakin' thing you want to achieve, you have a process that you undergo to achieve it. No matter what you do. Think marathon runners vs. couch potatoes. Unlikely opponents but they both have their own 'recipe' for being successful in their "industry". ;)

GET CLEAR ON WHAT YOU DESIRE

In order to manifest money now, you have to know how much you actually want. Yeah, we all wanna win lotto and buy the All Blacks (or is that just me?), but that's the equivalent of wishing for smaller thighs while chowing down on a cream donut. Getting specific gets you energetically focused. And where focus goes, energy grows.

Task: Write down exactly what you want, all of it, no matter how "ridiculous" it may seem.

YOU NEED A REAL PURPOSE FOR IT

To overcome our money blocks and limiting money beliefs, it's not enough to know how much money you want to manifest. You need to know the why behind it. What is your purpose for having this specific thing and not something else? What do you need the money for? What will it do for you? Money needs a purpose, just like Chris Pratt's chiseled gorgeousness needs eyes to oogle it. *drooooooool*

Task: Next to your desire, write your purpose for it, why you need it in your life. This get's you clear.

FORM A CLEAR VISION IN YOUR MIND

Have a very clear, very specific mental picture of what it is you want. Be clear and express that picture to the universe: Visualize. You are like a compass. North is your desire and so you follow that, if you don't focus on your desire the needle spins randomly never getting you to your destination. Be clear and hold on to your thought!

Task: Sit quietly on your couch and form a visual of you having what you desire.

USE GRATITUDE AFFIRMATIONS

Oprah said, "The quickest way to change your life is by using gratitude". And she was right! Using gratitude affirmations is really about seeking harmony with the universe. When you express gratitude for something, it's increasing whatever it's being directed at. Love for your family, your friends, your personal items, your future etc. Remember, it's not actually about the words but about the energy you're harnessing. If your affirmation is "I want to be rich, thank you for the abundance" and you feel like crap because you just had an argument with your partner, it's not going to be as effective say when you just got home after a nature walk and you're feeling really good! Get into a daily practise of gratitude and you will start noticing changes from day one.

Task: Start a morning gratitude journal where you write 2 - 3 money manifestation affirmations each morning.

TAKE CONGRUENT INSPIRED ACTION

Most people think of action in terms of physically making a motion towards something. But there's an even more powerful way to take action that doesn't require physical action. It's energetic action. You do this by consistently doing the first four tasks each and every day, from there you'll start to receive inspired ideas that will get you to take physical action.

Task: Hold the thought of what you want with trust & the inspired action will come to you.

BECOME AN ENERGETIC MATCH TO YOUR DESIRE

This is where most people get tripped up because they want what they want without making any changes. Having more money is a positive thing for you right? But where are you energetically? Negative? Desperate? Blah? In that state you're not an energetic match to the money. You have to bring yourself up, and others around you (because it helps your manifesting mojo) and be the positivity, the good vibes, the warm fuzzies that the money is for you. It's about being congruent, because you can't be pissed off about not having money and feel good about wishing for it at the same time. You need to have the image of wealth in your mind with the feeling of joy in your heart.

Leave a comment below and tell me how much you'd like to manifest and for what purpose? Dream big!

Free Printable: The Happiness Schedule

Happiness, I believe, belongs to those who define it. Because without stating precisely what it means to you, it becomes an elusive esoteric god-like feature that only the special among us ever get to taste.

Because even if you had it sitting right there in your sweaty little lap, you wouldn't see it. Because you'll already be looking for the next "thing" to make you happy.

But when you define it as clear as the Mediterranean sea - it's yours for the taking.

Happiness is really simple if you let it be. So for now while your complexly beautiful infuriating mind is off calculating how many lattes you need to stop drinking and thank you's you need to start saying. Just start here.

Because this is happiness and it's most simplistic.

How To Love Your Flaws & Adore Your Body

How To Love Your Flaws & Adore Your Body

So, you got flaws?

Damn girl, I got them too! If we really wanna get into a contest about it, I've had mine since I was 8-years-old. What about you? Can you beat that? Can ya? Can ya!?

Okay, childishness aside, can we have a REAL conversation about this please? Body image. Argh! Single most important thing to a woman's mental health is how she feels about herself. Takes years to build confidence up, and a moment to tear it down.

That 'tear down' infests every area of a your life from the clothes you wear everyday, how you interact socially, when you see your friends, how often you have sex, how well you perform at your job, your own personal happiness to the relationship you are constantly creating with yourself.

Adoring your body, loving your flaws & seducing yourself goes far beyond self love. It's about creating a healthy body image regardless of your size.

When you learn to do this (through my AWESOME steps below) you will touch every part of your life. You'll gain strength and lighten the load of your heart with each step you take. Think of how much more time you'd have on your hands if you can successfully replace your self-loathing with joy, bliss, love & fun!

Another point I want to make out is that everyone no matter how thin, thick, short, tall or 'normal', have body image issues. Let's start changing that today shall we?

  • Whatever your flaws are, FLAUNT THEM: Oh god *cringe* - "I can't stand looking at them, why the fuck would I want to flaunt them!?" you say? It's in bringing those things that we hide, are ashamed of, make us feel less out into the light to heal, and be okay with. Turn what you can't stand into your greatest asset.

  • Buy clothing & underwear that makes you feel uber sexy/happy but also FITS: If you're worried about how big you are, but you're still cramming your voluptuous frame into a tiny piece of material, it's time to go out, honor your body & buy yourself some bigger clothes that look sexy as hell on you & make you feel so comfortable. If you're worried about how small you are, you get yourself some stunning numbers that'll make you feel beautiful! In other words, STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE SIZE ON THE LABEL. It doesn't matter!

  • Drop the story & write a new one: "Soooooo like, I've had body image issues since I was 8-years-old..." It's time to let this story go hun. Plus, it's probably gotten a little boring and repetitive. Invent a new story, c'mon we could do it a thousand times a day when we were kids! How do you wanna feel in your body in this new story? What's the kinda relationship you wanna have with your body?

  • Move your body. I don't mean go to the gym and run on the treadmill for 3 hours while you simultaneously slate every inch of your body. No no. What I mean is make your body active. Dance around your house, do some zumba, go for a lovely bush walk with your hunk-o-manflesh or take a shopping/gossip date with your girls. Do things that make you happy, that also combine being active. You will feel amazing for it!

  • Learn the art of Charm & Cheek: Kitty Cavalier's School of Charm & Cheek is for women who want to learn how to reclaim those two elements as a source of power and to know themselves more deeply and intimately. She explains that Charm is the sensation of pleasing or delight, and Cheek is endearingly irreverent. They're the Ying & Yang of living a really fun & joyous life. Too much charm can be cute & pretty but you always need a little cheek.

  • Ignore the haters: There's one in every town. But that in no way means you should buy into their crap of what they say about you. If someone in your life doesn't make you feel loved, beautiful or worthy it's better to distance yourself from them than put up with their own insecurities they're projecting on you.

  • Join a Burlesque Class: Burlesque is such an intriguing, alluring form of entertainment that involves getting on stage and flaunting EVERYTHING (& yes includes a strip tease). Before you say "There ain't no way in HELL that's happening!" you can first learn Burlesque from the comforts of your own home (or bedroom with all the curtains closed if your so inclined). Channel your inner Carmen Electra or Jo Weldon. Burlesque isn't just about stripping, teasing or seducing, it's actually a form of therapy exploration for someone whose dealt with body image issues, eating disorders or just feeling dirty because your a woman. It helps heal those wounds.

  • Be unapologetically YOU: You are who you are and as much as you want you can't change that (unless you really try too). Living an authentic life isn't about 'being the best version of yourself', it's actually about living in the polarity of your flaws and assets and not making either one right or wrong. It's about wearing both of them unapologetically & having a wild time!

  • Love what's unlovable: Re-tune your relationship with those parts of yourself that you find unlovable. If you struggle with a particular body part, say your belly. Start telling yourself your belly is the hottest thing about you. Or if it's your thighs, tell yourself your thighs are your sexiest asset. The only thing less attractive than "flaws" is not liking those parts of yourself that are considered flaws.

  • Sweet talk yourself. Okay, TMI time. Before my shower every night, I spend some time just being naked in my bathroom. I turn on my fancy shower radio I got when I was 14 and I dance andflip my hair round (it actually feels AMAZING on the skin of your back, did you know that?!). I take time just to enjoy my body and talk to it sweetly, tell her she's beautiful and that she's sexy as hell. Doing this has greatly improved my body image, so I dare you to do it too.

  • Seduction = attraction: Oh yeah, seduction is actually a great tool for law of attraction! But first you gotta change your personal definition of seduction (which will more than likely be about sex, being perfect, a way to get what you want or being cold). Seduction as a way of life is living with the utmost authenticity, boisterously. And when you do (be) that you naturally attract or seduce what you really want. You bypass your egos need for control and you attract your souls true desire.

  • Give up the bitch fest: Sitting round with your friends, family and colleagues bitching about your bodies is the WORST thing you could do to yourself. It psychologically affects you deeper than you realize & completely warps your relationship with your body. STOP IT. If you've got nothing nice to say about yourself, don't say it! Instead, print this page out and do at least ONE of these steps to making yourself feel better!

  • Love yourself no matter what size you are just for the f*ck of it: Be a rebel without a cause. Love yourself till the end of time, just because you f*cking can!

  • How To Love Your Flaws <3 How To Adore Your Body
Are you yourself dealing with your own body image issues? Or have you worked through your body issues & have a great relationship with your body? Please tell me in the comments below!

Oh and if you know of someone who is struggling with her own self image, please share this post with her. It may just change her life. xx

7 Ways to Fall Madly In Love With Yourself

7 ways to practice self love

As you may well know, it's important to give your love to your friends, family and partners but it's also just as vitally important to give the good lovin' to yourself .

The saying goes "You gotta fill yourself up with love, so much so that you overflow and have an abundance to give to others". I read that somewhere but I can't remember where! Here's how you do it for yourself.

Create a morning ritual for yourself // Rituals are what you do every day, good or bad, that determine your life's conditions. So it's better to consciously do them than unconsciously. How to create your own morning ritual? Decide how you want your day to go and what you wanna feel like. Energized? Blissful? Badass? Sexy as hell? Then choose 1 - 3 things to do with your body, your focus and your words. So that could be getting straight out of bed, putting your trainers on and going for a run, or making a green smoothie, or singing your favourite song in your underwear. Whatever is gonna make you feel the way you wanna feel.

Eat and drink the foods that ACTUALLY make you happy! // I know you have them, so what are they? What beverages make you feel really good. Perhaps a soy latte? Maybe cucumber and grapefruit detox water? How about foods? What foods put you in a really good state? Is it carrots? What about sun dried tomatoes & feta on crackers? Monitor yourself for the next week on the food and drink you consume and how you feel after consuming them. Note down which of those made you feel good, then keep consuming more of your feel good foods!

Take breaks from technology // No BUTS! Too much of a good thing is always a bad thing. How often do you watch TV, listen to the radio, use the computer, laptop, ipad, ipod and cell phone? Every day I'm guessing? Shit, every minute I'll bet! Spend some time apart. Not only does this make you feel really good but you actually get that time to indulge in what you like (shopping, coffee with friends, one-on-one time with your beau..) I usually take the weekends off. I'll check the occasional email and fb update but I'm never on for more than 10 mins because the weekend is MY TIME.

Keep your negative thoughts on the downlow // A toughie but a goodie. Negativity can be like a virus, once you catch it it's bloody hard to get rid of but if you keep yourself healthy and well nourished, you won't get hit by the doom and gloom of it all. This TOTALLY applies to negative thoughts, negative talk, judging, gossiping and complaining - it's all the same. If you have a negative thought pop up, intercept it by placing a positive thought there instead. You can only think one thought at a time so make your thought space a positive place. You do that by focusing on your surroundings and finding something small that's positive to you. Maybe a flower, painting, the sky, a couple, anything.

Spread your love around with THICK layers // One of my favourites! Express your love to the people in your life. Whether it's your mum, dad, bff, siblings, partner, friends, pets, aunts, uncles, the person you passed while out running earlier today or the birds you fed on your lunch break. Spread it around because it is infectious and it attracts the good stuff. Remember how good you feel when you do something nice for a person and they are so grateful you literally fill up like a balloon of hot gooey caramel air? Yeah that's the good stuff, but imagine if it was 24/7??

Get your dancey dance on! // What girl doesn't love to jiggle her ass around a room? It doesn't have to be anywhere near perfect nor do you have to join a class. All you need to do is put on your favourite tunes and move that body in the most freely, loosely and un-co way. Go bat-shit! Go Will Smith!

Wear clothing that truly expresses who you are // None of these black, toned down layers BS. You are one hot, badass babe who has one sexy body to flaunt REGARDLESS of your size and shape. It makes a HUGE difference to a woman if she feels sexy in what she's wearing, so don't hide away or cheap yourself out of a hot outfit. You always deserve it.

What's one thing you're taking from this post and implementing into your life today? Get on it!

    How to Follow Your Dreams

There are those who stopped searching, those that stopped believing, those who vanished in the dark - forever - never to return again. Are you one of those people?

    Come back.

    Come back to your dreams.

There is so much magic and wonder waiting for you.

The path is just around the corner.

    Follow it.

Follow the path to your dreams..

    1. Follow YOUR dreams, not others: Well duh, right? Yet sooo many people find themselves chasing what someone else wants or has told them to want. i.e people in relationships, well meaning parents etc. NO! No more! Get your own damn dream :P No but seriously, I hope you already have one. You gotta pursue what your gut wants.

    2. Know that you're good enough to have your dream: So like, there's a lot of you out there who believe you don't actually deserve what you want. Wtf is that about? Um, you do, you always did, stop making excuses you dork. You're good enough. Always were. And I need you to believe it.

    3. Get excited about beginning: The beginning is the best bit! Everything's new and exciting, you get treated pretty special too and things just seem to fall into place easily to help you get on your track.

    4. Ignore the pessimists, critics and haters: When you're out there with your armor, your shield and your swords - you're always going to come across some bastard who wants to fight. Because it can't just be all rainbows and bunnies, can it? Some will say you shouldn't be there, others will hold you back, some will try to suck the life out of you - some will succeed. You gotta practice what I call, selective ignorance. Works like a charm.

    5. Create a personal incantation: Like an actual pump yourself up pep-talk.

    6. Stop comparing yourself to others: It's hard, I know. Your ex bestie just seems to have everything falling effortlessly into her lap, or so it seems from the outside. Just go do something else that gets your mind off it, cause it's a waste of time focusing your attention on something you can't change. Use those energy sources for YOUR shit, your dream, your path. Not someone elses. Wtf!?

    7. Create a 'Dreams & Goals' Journal: Not only is it fun to have something to create, design and take with you everywhere but it's always a BOAT LOAD of fun to track your progress and have that constant positive reinforcement of your goals and that they are 100% real and valid. If that's too much of a hassle, use post-it notes and annoyingly stick em' up everywhere.

    8. Write BIG clear goals: Write your goals out in your journal and make sure they are clear, specific and measurable. Think of how much and by when? Combine the SMART and BHAG goals and you've got a strong Mojito for success.

    9. Create a Daily & Weekly Task List: Buy or create your own weekly calender with small tasks you can complete throughout the week towards your dream. Whether it's saving for your big OE or studying monologues for the theatre show you're in. Make sure you have at least 1 thing each day to work towards. Although it seems small to begin with, once you add them all up, you realize it's quite a big task you've completed.

    10. Create your own motivation blueprint: Whatever it is that you believe that makes you work harder, better, faster, stronger - DO IT. This can be anything from having a specific ritual that you do each day like playing tennis, gardening or running naked around the house. Just do it.

    11. Celebrate the small accomplishments: I'm all about celebrating the little pleasures, so it's no different here. Celebrate the little stepping stones in your journey to success. It's one of the most liberating things you can do for yourself and your sanity.

    12. Find others just like you: No matter where you are or how much you believe you are on your own - this is a lie. There are maaaaaaaaaany others just like you who are pursuing their dreams and who want to know YOU. Search for facebook and linkedin groups, find inspirational people on twitter to follow, look in your local newspapers and magazines and read the local-spotlight articles, get in touch with those people who sound like someone you'd like to know. There's a huge big world out there just dying for you to dip your toes in, so let's get to it shall we?

    13. Make a dream board on Pinterest: Getting creative is one of the funnest things about following your dreams. If you've got a Pinterest account, create for yourself a new board on your Dreams. Then search around on pinterest and google and find yourself inspirational images that show the essence of your dream to you. Then look at the board as much as you can and continue to add to it as your goal progresses on and gets bigger.

    14. Study a role model you aspire to be like: Find someone that inspires you to be better. Someone who has morals, ethics and values that resonate with you and what you'd like to have. Study their success strategy, find out what they did, write to them, praise them and soon you will find yourself becoming someone as great as them - if not better.

    15. Learn enthusiasm and confidence: Making your dreams come true is no doubt going to require some help from other people, directly or indirectly. To attract the right people to help you get there you need to start oozing enthusiasm, positivity and confidence - with a sneaky dash of smartass charm. We've all heard the saying 'fake it till you make it' and in this case it is most definitely true!

    16. Use Visualization: Go a few years ahead from now and imagine where you will be after you've pursued your passions after all this time. How do you feel? Where are you? Who is with you? What can you smell? Taste? See? Go there and then rewind it back through the years to the present moment. While you're coming back, see the steps you took to get there. Now go out and take that action!

    17. Open your heart and be authentic: Let your authenticity and creativity shine through with an open heart. It does amazing things for you.

    18. Stay true to yourself: Don't be that guy who gets all famous and turns into a douche bag. Because once you've obtained that title, it's really hard to shake. So no matter what happens, how much success you obtain or who you know - ALWAYS stay true to who you are. Don't get blinded by the shiny pennies that will dazzle their way in front of you. Remember your purpose, remember your passion and remember who you really are.

    19. Practice gratitude: It's not a hard task to say 'thank you' and mean it. Doesn't require much time or energy from you. Get thankful for everything that you have, that you've had and that you're going to have. This is the actual secret recipe to getting every single thing you want. But the trick is, you must FEEL the gratitude. Feel it in your heart. It really does make you happier, thus easier to keep pursuing your dream.

    20. Become the apprentice once again: Educate yourself, learn new things, read books that speak to you, take courses that resonate with your desires, learn about those places you always wanted to go. Don't be afraid to become the student once again. Personal growth is the key to a fulfilled life.

    21. Spread the word: You never know who is out there who might have the perfect opportunity waiting for you or perhaps is dying to be a big part of your support system. You have to let others help you.

The simplest, most effective way to deal with sh*tty experiences.

I handle stress about as well as a 2yr old handles her toys being taken off her. Not well.

I had this one experience not long ago where everything just seemed to go wrong. It felt like no matter what I did or how much I tried to make it better (with meditation, forgiveness, good thoughts etc) it would not improve. In fact it got worse!

So I switched to complaining, b*tching and getting what I really thought off my chest thinking that maybe that's what I needed to do. That didn't work either.

It's like the universe was literally taking a giant sh*t on my face (Excuse the vulgarity, but that's exactly what I blurted out to a friend. We both laughed hysterically).

But ya know, it's inevitable that we're all gonna have those moments in life when sh*t hits the fan and we just gotta deal with it the best we can.

As you might imagine, that didn't sit too well with me.

So instead I went looking for (more) solutions.

Maybe you found out your boyfriend has cheated on you or maybe you had a fight with your mother. You could have just made the most epic mistake at work or just seem to have one sh*t thing happening after the other to you. Either way I am proud to announce that I FINALLY discovered a simple (yet effective) way to deal with those experiences.

WARNING: You may not like it because it requires action on your part.

How to Eliminate Stress & Feeling Like Sh*t all the Time

    1) Ask yourself, "How did this experience make me feel?", and write down everything you felt.

Was it anger, frustration or helplessness? Did you feel like you just wanted to burst out in tears? Did you just want to scream or hit something? Get specific and just run it like pure consciousness. This is an insanely awesome exercise to get those deep set feelings off your chest and out of you.

    2) Knowing how it made you feel, now write down how would prefer to feel instead.

If this situation could have gone differently, would you have prefered to feel at ease, stressless or relaxed? Would you rather feel at peace or just forget the whole thing? This part of the exercise is crucial to helping you feel better about it.

    3) And lastly referring to the previous list, what are 2 - 3 things that you can do right now that would make you feel better?

This is not about finding solutions, it's about finding a way for YOU to feel better right now. So if you prefered to feel relaxed, maybe you could take a bath or go and get a massage. If you wrote down that you'd be happier if you felt at ease, maybe a meditation session is a great idea or buying yourself some beautiful flowers for your dining room.

This is my instant stress-solver, sure it doesn't eliminate the actual sh*tty situation that has happened, but it's never about the situation in the first place. It's about how YOU feel about what's happened.

So if you can get yourself into a better feeling place about this stressful experience by using this exercise, you my dear have successfully learned how to think in a completely new way.

Your action plan today is to tell me what is one thing you are going to do to make yourself feel better in your stressful situation. What is something that'd make you feel FANTASTIC right now? I bet it's not moping in bed!
